Does Miracle Money exist? What does the Bible say concerning it?
Can believers receive Miracle Money instantly today? Why are there so many controversies surrounding the subject?
Stay with me as I bring you what God has opened my eyes to see from the scriptures.
If you have been around me for some time, you would know that three words sum up my whole ministry: Grace, Faith and Power. By power here, I mean the Supernatural. I've studied these three words in the light of redemption more than any other subject of the Bible. Nearly everything I believe and teach can be traced to these three words.
If there is even a hint of anything in line with these words in the Bible, I am not one to quickly dismiss it. God in His infinite mercy has helped me and those under me to grow in the understanding of these subjects and also in their manifestations. I even have a book on How To Demonstrate And Constantly Walk In The Supernatural where I shared some of the things I have learnt of the Lord that has helped me step into the ever-flowing rivers of the Supernatural.
However in all my years of studying and practicing the things of the Spirit, nothing has stood out for me as Miracle Money. The controversy around the subject has made me navigate through the scriptures several times, with the intent to truly see what it teaches about the subject.
Here's my findings. I pray that the Lord opens your eyes to learn one or two things from this.
Miracle Money In The Bible
Matthew 17:24-27 KJV
"And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee."
The account of Matthew in the passage above is the only reference we have to miracle money in the scriptures. Of course this very reference involved the Lord Jesus Himself and His disciples.
Growing up spiritually, I greatly battled with this passage of scripture for many reasons.
The first being that no other writer of the earthly ministry of Jesus made mention of this. Not even John.
Secondly, Matthew did not give us a full account of this. Whether Peter found the money or not, Matthew didn't say. However, we know that if the Lord told Peter he'd find the money there, he definitely found it. 100%.
Now since Matthew didn't give a full account of this, we also can't say for sure whether Jesus meant exactly what He said. He could be speaking figuratively.
Lastly, money is a legal tender. To be authentic, it needs to have certain numberings and features, and signed by the Governor or Director of the Central Bank of the country that produced it. If the money Jesus spoke about actually appeared from nowhere into the mouth of the fish, who produced it? Who signed it to make it authentic or legal? Will Jesus break the Law of the human government he asked to obey to meet a particular need?
These questions and reasons I listed above made me refrain from talking about Miracle Money in public or even praying to receive them. Everytime I attempt to pray for myself or other persons to receive it, the boldness to do that will just fizzle out of me.
Until one day....
Light Flooded The Eyes Of My Understanding
I mentioned earlier that if there's even a single hint of anything supernatural in the scriptures, I don't just dismiss it. No matter how little the information around it is.
As a result of this, I kept an open heart, believing God for more light on the subject of Miracle Money until one day, the Holy Spirit began to deal with my heart. I went back to studying the recorded miracles of Jesus in the Bible. All of a sudden, an overwhelming light flooded the eyes of my understanding on the subject.
Let me share some of the things He opened my eyes to see from the scriptures:
1. Several miracles of Jesus never really followed the Laws of the land in His days. He was so much driven by love and compassion that He prioritized "meeting man's needs supernaturally" above "natural laws".
For instance in Matthew 12. We see Jesus go against what was seen as "legal" in their day to supernaturally set a man free of a physical deformity that has crippled his life for many years.
"When Jesus left the field, he entered their meeting place. There was a man there with a crippled hand. They said to Jesus, "Is it legal to heal on the Sabbath?" They were baiting him.
He replied, "Is there a person here who, finding one of your lambs fallen into a ravine, wouldn't, even though it was a Sabbath, pull it out? Surely kindness to people is as legal as kindness to animals!" Then he said to the man, "Hold out your hand." He held it out and it was healed. The Pharisees walked out furious, sputtering about how they were going to ruin Jesus."
Matthew 12:9-14 (The Message translation)
"But this is just a religious law" you may say. Well, I said the same thing too until I went back to study the first miracle of Jesus. The supernatural production of wine from just water.
Before I go on with that, I need you to know that the religious laws of the Jews (the Mosaic Law) were fully recognized by the government of their day. You just couldn't break them and go scot free. Including the laws guiding the Sabbath. If you do, the High Priest and other religious leaders had every right by civil or government law to arrest and try you. If every evidence proved you guilty, a well deserved punishment will be meted out to you. Every Jew knew this and strictly abided by them.
Now back to the miracle in Cana of Galilee:
(John 2:1-10 The Message translation)
Three days later there was a wedding in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there. Jesus and his disciples were guests also. When they started running low on wine at the wedding banquet, Jesus' mother told him, "They're just about out of wine."
Jesus said, "Is that any of our business, Mother—yours or mine? This isn't my time. Don't push me."
She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, "Whatever he tells you, do it."
Six stoneware water pots were there, used by the Jews for ritual washings. Each held twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus ordered the servants, "Fill the pots with water." And they filled them to the brim.
"Now fill your pitchers and take them to the host," Jesus said, and they did.
When the host tasted the water that had become wine (he didn't know what had just happened but the servants, of course, knew), he called out to the bridegroom, "Everybody I know begins with their finest wines and after the guests have had their fill brings in the cheap stuff. But you've saved the best till now!"
Now most of us just read this story and wave it aside without paying much attention to how the miracle occured.
In ancient Israel, before you produce wine that is considered "okay" for consumption, there has to be some sort of "hechsher" on it. Especially wines used for events like Passover, Wedding and several others.
The "hechsher" is usually a form of certification issued by a government authorized person (e.g a rabbi) who monitors the production process to ensure it follows the rules stipulated by the halakhah (the Jewish written and spoken laws, the Torah and so on).
Now in the story we just read, there's no mention of Jesus following these "legal" processes when He turned water into wine. He never applied for the "hechsher" directly or even waited for a law official to come check if His wine production process is in line with the laws of their day. He simply saw a need and met it supernaturally as fast as He could.
2. The authenticity of Miracles depends on Spiritual laws. Not natural laws. You can't say a miracle (including Miracle Money) is fake just because it didn't follow human legal systems or processes.
In Acts of the Apostles, God opened prison doors supernaturally for the apostles. He delivered them from the hands of those planning to take advantage of the weakness of man-made laws to kill them. He never waited for the apostles to get a lawyer and face a legal trial in court first before rescuing them.
In Matthew 12:5-8, Jesus made it clear that in the face of a need, God will readily bypass human laws, processes and systems to come to man's aid. He lives in a realm far higher than man's. The laws, processes and systems of that realm also supersedes that of man by far.
"Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day." Mat 12:5-8 KJV
3. Biblically, Miracle Money is just another dimension of God's supernatural provisions. Not a new thing entirely.
One of the names attributed to God in the Old Testament is Jehovah Jireh. In English today, that means "God, our provider", "God will provide" or "the God who sees ahead of time and provides".
The first time this name was mentioned in the scriptures, God supernaturally provided a live Ram for Abraham and his son Isaac to offer their sacrifice.
Subsequently, He miraculously provided water, meat and manna for the Israelites for forty years!
He didn't cultivate the earth, plant crops, harvest and process them into foods for them to eat.
As if that is not enough, He supernaturally had a Raven bring food for Prophet Elijah while he ran from Ahab.
In the New Testament, God in Christ provided a net-breaking amount of fishes for the disciples after they (professional fishermen) have toiled all night without catching a single fish. From the same water that they didn't catch anything, He made a multitude of fishes come out.
In two different occasions, He fed a multitude of over 10 thousand persons with bread and fishes He supernaturally multiplied.
Let nobody fool you. If God provided every one of these things listed here with ease whenever they were needed, He can as well supernaturally provide money for His people whenever He sees it fit to provide it for them.
He can command His angels to appear as men, work and come give you the money they earned. He can as well instruct them to cause men to favour you with money when you least expect it. I am also convinced He can nudge the hearts of those who have more than enough to spare to bless your life with cash, a cheque or send money to your bank account.
I don't really care so much about how He's going to do it. I just know He can and has been doing it.
As for the fact that no other writer of the Bible mentioned the miracle money story Matthew talked about, remember that not all the miracles in the book of Acts got mentioned by any other writer in the Bible except Luke. Yet the church today believes those miracles occured and endorsed them.
John ended his writing with a little note to help us keep an open heart concerning the miracles of Jesus.
John 21:25 KJV: And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
My Personal Encounters With Miracle Money
Over the course of my life and ministry, I have seen God supernaturally come through for me with miracle money at different times.
One of those times was in 2016, when we established Grace-Word Assembly in Benue State, Nigeria.
We had heard God speak to us about leaving Anambra State to go minister to the people living in one of the villages in Benue State called Oju.
As of that time, we had nothing on us except the instruction from God to "go". We stepped out believing that God will provide for us everything we need along the way.
On getting to Benue, we needed a facility to use as our local church where we would bring those we've evangelized together, disciple and prepare them for ministry.
After finding a suitable place for that, we had no money to pay for it. Then Evang. Samuel Paul and I decided to go into prayers, trusting God to provide the money. We didn't know how He'd do it, but we just knew He could and would do it. So we kept on praying, everyday, from 12am till 4am.
In one of those nights, while we prayed, two text messages came into my phone. This was around 12am to 2am. We opened the first one and it was a credit alert from my bank bearing the name of someone I wouldn't like to mention here. My church folks know this person cos they're familiar with this story.
We also opened the second text message and it was a message from the same person who sent the money.
I can't remember everything in the text now but I remember the sender said he had to go through either his phone or diary to figure out where he wrote down my account details many years ago. He said he hasn't been able to sleep for sometime because every single time he tried to, he would here a voice saying "call Pst. Okocha and send him money". Since it was already late in the night, he had to postpone the call till morning and send the money immediately. He said perhaps by doing that, the angels would let him sleep peacefully.
My brother (Evang. Sam) and I were overjoyed. We were never expecting that in anyway. At least, not so fast and certainly not in that manner!
Over the next three days, we saw God miraculously provide the remaining amounts to complete the money for the facility. Every one of them happened almost the same way.
Till today I still marvel everytime I remember how the money for that facility in Benue State came supernaturally. It's still one of my biggest encounters with Miracle Money till date.
Have I experienced Miracle Money any more since then? Absolutely! And so has the people I've prayed for to receive it.
So, is Miracle Money real?
The simple Biblical answer is Yes. God can provide anything at all for anyone in need of it, including money. And He can do that using anyone, anywhere and any means He sees fit.
If you are in such a situation where you need God to supernaturally come through for you by providing money for you, open up your heart to receive it. Don't let any dogma, philosophy, logic and opinions of men stop you from receiving it. God is so much interested in your well-being that He wouldn't hesitate to miraculously provide the exact amount you need to see you through your financial problems right now.
Now I pray for you, in the name of Jesus Christ, the same Jesus that provided miracle money to save Peter and Himself from a financial embarrassment, receive Miracle Money now!
Let the favour of God come upon you in such a manner that it will cause men to willingly give you money - cash, cheque or bank transfer!
Let angels cause your name, your business idea, your needs and so on, to continuously ring like a bell in the hearts of everyone that is in a position to help you with money until they do so. Until that problem is fully solved, may miracle money never stop happening for you!
In the name of Jesus Christ!
Amen!
I hope this blessed you. Glory to God!
Thank you man of God
